Tongariro Natioal Park

This will be an overnight stay at the Unit for and early departure on Saturday morning. This will give us time to go through the packs and check food, clothing and sleeping bags to ensure that the correct gear is brought.

We will start our hike in at the Whakapapa Village entrance and making our way to the Waihohonu Hut (staying for the night) departing Sunday morning for our exit on the Desert Road.

NOTE: this is the beginning og the cold season therefore we may encounter some snow. Cadets will be required to bring a gas cooker etc.
